    The Raven Boys

Post by Mistystar on Thu Oct 10, 2013 5:23 pm

    This is the inside cover:

There are two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St.Marks eve.
    Either you his true love........
    Or you killed him.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon to be dead walk past. Blue never see's them- until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.
His name is Gansey, and he's a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as the Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little.
For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned she will cause her true love to die. She doesn't believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore.

This book is great, other than some swearing. It is frequent and severe, but there are worse. The plot line, characters and most other things about the book are great!!!

Beware, there is a lot of swearing! It doesn't add much to the story, and It's not my favorite book, but its good.

Well, they do say some pretty bad ones, but their easy to ignore. I don't know if you'd like it, Sky. Its a weird book, and I didn't love it. At all. The plot was cool, but to me the plot it shows is just kind of a sub plot, and theres not much added to it so far.

I don't know if I would love it. Does it ever annoy you guys when you go to the school library (Misty, before you were virtual schooled  Smile ) and all of their books are really easy? In sixth grade when we were reading the student version of Seabiscuit (Dear Language arts teachers, a pony is not a baby horse!) I had already read the adult version and had found that more interesting.

Haha, totally!! I skip straight to the adult section. They have some really good books. My favorite was called 'Horse Boy' and it was about a boy with autism that was almost completely cured of it by horses.
