VAGAS HEARTBREAK TRIBUTE

You know, you never truly get over something like this. I keep looking back and remembering more good times we had with Ol' Luce. When Boo would chew off her forelock, she would let all the horse get really nice and close to her, then she'd explode and run around and buck, and then there's the bad, how old, thin and mangy she looked towards the end, how dark her eyes seemed, how frail every movement she made was.

Yeah, I'll cherish the memories I had with her.

Jake scared me a few weeks ago. I walked into the barn and the sun casted shadows that looked like jutting ribs and his blaze looked bigger and his head was low. I though he was Lucy and I almost fainted. It scared me so much. Soon, winter will be here, and then spring and it will mark a year since she died. April 17, two days before Boo's birthday. I actually had been planning his Birthday. It was on a Friday, and by then I still wasn't talking much, or eating. I made him a birthday cake of hay, mints, apples and grain, but it wasn't the same at all. He knew what had happened. There was no fighting the first few days. They all walked around as a herd, and just stood in her grave, which hadn't grown grass yet, of course, and they stood there. They could have gone and grazed around it, but they didn't. Boo seemed the most effected. He kept his head low for a while.

That's so so sad!!
