Maybe there is a drought and the water supply is running out as a strange omen arrives like "lightning will strike the rock and water will pour freely". then maybe to top off the drought, Some animal enters the territory and pushes a cat with lightening in its name of a cliff and it falls into the canyon below, gets hit on the head with a rock, gets knocked out, captured by rouges, escapes rouges and the water starts again. It sounds pretty wierd but it's the best I could think of.
